Girl next door or rebel rocker? Canberra-based artist Marji Curran has built her career on her chameleon ability to sing like an angel while rocking out to the driving force of an eclectic fusion of blues beats.
The highly-regarded songwriter is renowned for both her power and passion when it comes to lyrics as she seeks to take audiences on an emotive journey through stories delivered in a mix of blues rock, roots, folk and country blues.

The Marji Curran Band have been playing shows and festivals  over the last couple of years drawing people to their feet with their signature high-energy, foot-stomping performances.
Curran, who also plays guitar, will be joined by lead guitarist Dave Williams, bass player Craig Marshallsy and drummer Donovan Gall. The latest line-up has evolved over time, growing out of the previous incarnation of the band called The Adam Hole and Marji Curran Band, and it is a line-up that is pulling major support wherever it appears.

Great Southern Blues Festival organiser, Neil Mumme, said the band made a welcome return to Narooma in 2014 and set the standard for getting fans rocking to the beat.
“Marji’s music is always sincere and from the heart which touches a chord with fans but she delivers her songs with an energy and determination that has to be seen to be believed,” Mumme said.
“Her chemistry onstage is electric and it is easy to see why she has become such a favourite at festivals around the country. She mixes styles beautifully and she gives everything she has to each and every performance.”

Curran has been honing her craft for more than a decade and as well as festivals, she has shared the stage with such top tier Australian acts as Jeff Lang, Dallas Frasca, Angry Anderson, Stevie Wright, and Jenny Morris.

At the Narooma festival she shared the limelight with international acts like Sandi Thom, The Kelley Richey Band and Phil Wiggins.
